We had a great run of The Cripple of Inishmaan with full houses the rule and great box office results.  The production as a success by any measure.  The semester draws to an end and I will be off to do some writing and sailing for the next few months to return to Maine in April.

We are in the last week of rehearsal before opening on November 15.  The show has been a joy to direct with a talented and disciplined cast and great technical support from the USM theatre.  Breaking raw eggs on Bartley's head is a great pleasure for Helen and one she will enjoy every night until the show closes.  Word from the box office is that tickets are going fast so if you are coming to see this one, make you reservation soon!

It is October and I am two weeks into rehearsal for The Cripple of Inishmaan and loving it.  A great cast and now the show is blocked and we are working details with a comfortable opening scheduled for November 15th.  An early favorite scene is Act 1, scene 4 with Mammy, Doc and Johnnypateenmike.  Politically incorrect and full of laughs, you know the playwright is doing his job when you worry about why you are laughing!  Here's hoping many of you will come and see this pre-Thanksgiving show.

So we are off again and on again but now we have a rehearsal performance of NO EXIT on June 27th followed by a July and August run in the St. Lawrence Arts center.  The show is looking great with Tom Campbell, Meredith Lamothe, Kathryn Perry and Brendan Johnson doing the acting and Dalton Kimball as stage manager.  Desiray Roy designs costumes and August Delisle the set for a 3/4 or arena stage.  Make a point to see this show if you are in the Portland Maine area in July or August.

No Exit turns out to be 20 minutes too long for the Portland Fringe rules and regs. so we have removed the show from the festival but will be performing at the St. Lawrence Arts center on Wednesday, June 26 instead.  Since this is the summer venue for the show, it will work out perfectly.  The cast is strong and the show is coming together nicely.  If you are in the Portland area in June or July, come see the show and visit the web site  www.thomas-power.com

I have just finished a new draft of White Lies and am ready for readers.  My current writing platform is 42 feet long and bobbing on anchor in West Indies.
